Bloody heck, the queen's gone and given a distinguishing honour to Miramax studio head Harvey Weinstein, whilst Ringo (and Davy Jones!) remain un-Knighted. Is she senile? All due respect, 'cause I know Harvey's Sir Paul's buddy and all (and I do love Miramax's Shakespeare In Love film), but Harvey's got such a reputation as a gangster/brute in the industry. I just don't get it.

The Queen only actually presents the knighthoods these days, it's the Government who decide who gets them, which is why there's always a huge list of politicians and senior civil servants who get knighted every year and only a paltry handful of showbiz types.
I may be wrong on this, someone can maybe correct me, but I think that Paul was the only Beatle who didn't return his MBE in protest, which means he was the only one still elligable to receive a knighthood. If Ringo did return his, I think we'll unfortunately never see a Sir Ringo. PAUL :( FANARCHY FOR THE UK. VICTORY NO.1
